The Tulunid dynasty is considered to be the first to rule Egypt independently separating from the Abbasid Caliphate, this was a wealthy period for Egypt, Ahmad Ibn Tulun the, founder of The Tulunid dynasty in Egypt, worked on improving the cultural and economic affairs, he also started building a new city called Al-Kata'I to be the seat of the government and the statesmen, he built his congregational mosque known nowadays by the Mosque of Ahmad Ibn Tulun. Then the Iikhshidid Dynasty came after.
